Why you MUST go to Sexhibition!

1. if you are interested in ART that speaks to you...you will be surrounded by amazing artwork.

2. if collaborative work means anything to you, you will be glad to know that over 200 models, photographers, sculptors and painters have contributed to this event. As in, smith students, 5-college students, Noho folks and even an amazing couple from South Carolina [huh? come to sexhibition and ask me...i will introduce you to them!]

3. if free events are of interest to you, this is obviously a must!

Sexhibtion 3-6-09 is NOT like it's been in the past! You must come to know exactly what i mean by "different." No better, no worse....just "different." The theme only should hint at that, "BEAUTY on a SPECTRUM."

For this year, Sexhibition has evolved into something more folks can attend and enjoy or appreciate. The works deal with the joys and lows of life. Some just worship the body by capturing its natural essence and celebrating it... Some deal with breast cancer, mental disorders, self mutilation... Some deal with smithies just drinking tea in leather jackets in just their underwear's ... Some deal with size, anger, sex, physical deformities, etc...

But they all deal with dignity, respect and growing from and to something greater: self love.


This event was made free so more people will come and gain something; or, exchange positive energy, thoughts, reflections, similar experiences, you name it.

SEXHIBITION: 3-6-9

Dear Sexhibition Participants:

If you have paintings or sculptures you wish to submit:

You can drop them off at the Resource Center for Gender and Sexuality, basement of Wesley house, on Thursday [3/5/09] between 8 and 10pm; OR, you can all bring them to the Carroll room on Friday [3/6/09] between 3:15 and 5:45.

There will be no exceptions. If you can not meet these times, and do not contact me in advance [ookpalor@smith.edu], your works will NOT be shown.

Volunteers are NEEDED:

People are needed from 9pm-1 am. If people volunteer for 30 minutes they will receive a printed photograph for free.

A total of 28 volunteers are needed! Please email me by Tuesday with a time slot that works for you! I beg! lol.

Curators are NEEDED:

Set up will begin at 3pm and end at 6:30pm. I need people to help me with this huge task! If you are interested, please email the times that work for you.

If you have been photographed and have not signed a consent form, please email me stating such. I will put forms in your mail boxes by Noon on Monday! This absolute necessary. I understand that I should have printed them in advance...but life happens.

Poster-folks are NEEDED:

This campus will be showered with posters on...either Monday or Tuesday. If you are interested in littering this campus with beautiful posters, Please EMAIL me!

You should know this event is going to be FUCKING AWESOME, I kid you NOT!

FREE food at the Art Exhibit! FREE popcorn at the Party! Polaroid pictures will be taken! Photographers will take pictures during the event! This event will be filmed and interviews are greatly ENCOURAGED! Live acoustic guitar tunes will play in the Purple Room! Printed photographs will be sold for a $1, to those who STAY UNTIL 12:55am [with the permission of the models]!
